A total of 4,000 participants (approximately 2,500 runners and 1,500 walkers) can participate in the fundraiser.
This year, for the first time, families can take part by entering the walk portion, as there is no age limit for walkers.
WHAT: 9K fundraising run that honors heroic veterans and raises much needed funds for the Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital Home Base Program. This year, the program also added an option of a 3-mile fundraising walk.
Whether you walk or run, both options take you on a scenic route through Boston, ending with the unforgettable experience of crossing home plate at historic Fenway Park. Friends and family can cheer you on from the stands at Fenway as you help to raise funds for veterans at America's Most Beloved Ballpark.
All net proceeds from the Run/Walk to Home Base are used to fund clinical care and support for hundreds of Iraq and Afghanistan veterans and their families throughout New England who are affected by combat stress, deployment stress, and traumatic brain injury.
