Two BIG Shows - March 11, 2012
4:00pm & 7:00 pm - Attleboro, Mass
TAKE A STEP BACK IN TIME... Travel back 150 years to July of 1862. Spend a day in Washington, DC with President Abraham Lincoln as he talks to family and friends about his desire to ""free the slaves"" with his Proclamation of Emancipation.
EDUCATIONAL - FUN - MOTIVATING - LIVING HISTORY - UNIQUE
During the program you will have a chance to meet and talk with President Lincoln’s staff, family and friends dressed in period clothing as they share stories of life in the 1860’s. Meet the President’s wife Mary Todd, or listen in as Vice President Hamlin and his wife Ellen discuss the issues of the day. Watch the Lincolns' children, Robert, William and Thomas play games with Lincoln's Secretary, John Hay. Be interviewed by the Union Soldier as he watches over the President. Meet the residents of 1862 Washington City, as they interact and entertain you with their life story. Over 24 local ""Living History"" Re-enactors for you to enjoy!
Our dinner theater style performance is not a “sit in your seat” program. Each year our cast takes on a DIFFERENT day in Lincoln's White House life - no two shows are ever the same. This year's theme is the Emancipation Proclamation. Learn what life was like for the slaves in the South and what a typical Northerner thought of slavery. Talk to the cast as they wander the room and learn interesting historical facts as you enjoy your meal. Visit the ""Civil War"" kitchen and taste a few samples. Use your Union money at the Mercantile Store to buy a special handmade gift. Watch Lincoln's family and friends dance, chat and occasionally argue over events of the day. Come share the excitement and be re-introduced to one of our greatest Presidents!
