It’s tricked out to look like Edgar’s Department Store · Holiday Bazaar at City Hall · Brockton Historical society – sponsoring historical talks, factoids & fun at four separate sites on the treasure hunt Afternoon - Parade · John “the Quietman” Ruiz, former heavyweight of the world and the pride of Methuen, is the Grand Marshal. He’s the only Latino heavyweight. · Ugo Paparo & the family of the late John Drystadt are honorary marshals in honor of their efforts to establish the parade in 1986. · Parade was started by the Rotary Club as a way to bring more people downtown · The parade is a true community event · Lots of food, fun (and FACILITIES) – make it a day!! Its more than just the parade this year!! · Clydesdales · Eight marching bands · Countless community groups – girl scouts, boy scouts, PACs & PTAs, etc. · Santa comes at the end Post-Parade · Parade Awards handed out at City Hall · Holiday music/sing along on City Hall Plaza · Mayor light’s the city’s Holiday Tree (with ornaments made by BPS kids) · Edgar Award presented
