I've just been to this steampunk exhibit and I had to hold back tears. It's a beautiful demonstration of the dreams that industrialists had in the 19th century about the future, a future that we are living today! Day of the Dead Festival at Forest Hills Cemetery	Tue 11/2	Boston Metro
The Day of the Dead festival is one of my favorite events of the year. It's outdoors at night and forget candy skeletons. This is a serious and touching remembrance of the dead lead by a Mexican group that touches ancient traditions. And you can join in the singing, dancing, and interacting with the spirit world. Iron Pour - Molten Metal Showers, Fire-spinning	Fri 10/29	Boston Metro
Mass College of Art has an "Iron Pour" twice a year, where the metals department melts down old radiators and shows how to pour into molds, generating huge showers of sparks. The event of this week is an outdoor brass band festival called HONK. There's a concert Saturday, and a parade Sunday at 12pm from Davis Square to Harvard Square, which is having an Octoberfest, with 6 live music stages, tons of street vendors, and a tethered hot air balloon ride. It's free of course, but the event ends with a brass concert Sunday 10/10 at the Somerville Theatre, and I have 4 tickets to give away.
